(I'm looking for a cat that is very energetic and loves to play around. Also I would love a cat that is very loving and like's to be handled. Anyone have any suggestions to what type of cat I should adopt? Obviously though I don't want an expensive overpriced purebred.)

Rexes (Devon or Cornish)
BTW I've owned a number of purebred cats (for showing/breeding) and they are NOT expensive overpriced cats. You wanted to know the active breeds. If you don't want a purebred, then you will have to take your chances on a mixed breed.
