(What Asian cat breeds accurately reflect Taiwan and which ones originated there?
I’m working on a project and I would like to know what Asian cat breeds accurately reflect Taiwan besides:
Oriental shorthair
Persian
Himilayan
Siamese
Exotic shorthair
Bengal cat?
These cat breeds are found in Taiwan.)

Answer :
None of those breeds originated in Taiwan and I’m not aware of any breeds that have originated in Taiwan.
Oriental Shorthair origianted in the US, Siamese in Thailand, Persian in what is modern day Iran, Exotic Shorthair in the US, Himilayan I believe in the UK, modern Bengal lines in the US.
Of that list only the Siamese would be considered Asian in origin. Asian in origin cats are almost all from Thailand not Taiwan. Other cats that actually originated in Asia would include the Korat, the Thai (classic Siamese) , and Khao Manee (considered a rare breed)
If you mean cats that were created using one of these cats as their basis。
If you mean Cat breeds considered “Oriental” type you would include Abyssinian, Balinese, Javanese, Oriental Shorthairs, Oriental long hairs most typically several of the hairless and rex breeds are also considered “oriental” type
There are other breeds that have acutal Asian cats in the breed history generally to get a specific color type (generally the pointed pattens) but after the color genes were introduced they were bred away from the asian breed type. For example the Himalian was developed by a cross between a Persian and a Siamese then breed back to the Persian breed type. The Ocicat was also originally the produce of a Siamese /Aby breeding but is not typically conisiderd and Orientaly cat breed
Also just a not as far as the “breeds” that are most popular there all the cats you listed as the 3 most popular are the same breed, all are different colors of Persians (though the Himalyan is considered a seperate breed by some regestries, due to the outcross to develope the pointed coloring) The Persian is considered the most popular breed worldwide (followed by the Siamese) not just in Taiwan。
